This week, we’re featuring Eating Air.

One of Kelvin Tong’s first few directorial outings, Eating Air is about youth, their freedom and their fantasies – in a nut shell, a ‘motorcycle kungfu love story’. Come join us for a night of nostalgia at myVillage Paramount Nights! Entry is free of charge.

Inaugurated in 2001, the President’s Young Talents (PYT) is a contemporary art exhibition series jointly organised by the Istana and the Singapore Art Museum (SAM).

The PYT series aims to showcase the work of upcoming Singapore artists whose work is both promising and exciting, and deemed of high enough standard to represent Singapore at international art fairs and platforms. Four promising young artists are short-listed by a curatorial committee to exhibit their works at the Singapore Art Museum.

For PYT09, the artists will create and present a new artwork especially for the exhibition. In addition, for the very first time in the PYT series, one artist out of the four nominees will be chosen to receive a cash award and a sponsored residency abroad. The award, sponsored by Credit Suisse, will allow the artist to further his / her artistic development and enable him/her to further his/her artistic development and to gain invaluable exposure to art communities and practices overseas.

More information at their website.
